TheatreWorks Alumni: Where are they now?

Prior to winning the Tony Award for his electrifying performance as the Genie in Broadway’s Aladdin, TheatreWorks veteran James Monroe Iglehart graced our stage in Big River, It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, Into the Woods, Ragtime, Bat Boy, and Caroline, or Change. In addition, he enjoyed a 3-year run as Bobby in Memphis on Broadway after originating the role at TheatreWorks.

Daveed Diggs (TheatreWorks’ A Civil War Christmas), is currently appearing as Thomas Jefferson/ Marquis de Lafayette in Hamilton on Broadway. Sydney James Harcourt and Javier Munoz from our New Works Festival reading of Cubamor are in the cast as well.

Michael Kang-Sik Lee and Scott Watanabe in 2001’s Pacific Overtures

Michael Kang-Sik Lee and Scott Watanabe (Pacific Overtures), are currently appearing on Broadway in the cast of Allegiance.


Greg Watanabe in 1990’s Rashoman

Greg Watanabe (Rashomon and As You Like It), is also a part of the cast of Allegiance on Broadway.

Megan McGinnis (Triangle), is currently appearing in Daddy Long Legs at the Davenport Theatre in New York City, reprising her role from our 2010 production. Daddy Long Legs recently became the first Broadway or Off-Broadway show to be broadcast live online for free.

Longtime TheatreWorks veteran Suzanne Grodner, most recently of Peter and the Starcatcher and The Great Pretender, can be seen in the Broadway tour of Beautiful.

Danny Burstein (Everything’s Ducky), is currently playing Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway.
