We’re delighted to be welcoming back two audience favorites while introducing two new, dynamic talents to the TheatreWorks Silicon Valley stage in Proof. One of the most recognizable faces of the Bay Area theatre scene, L. Peter Callender returns as Robert in Proof. The artistic director of San Francisco’s African American Shakespeare Company, his TheatreWorks credits include Radio Golf and To Kill a Mockingbird. Newcomer Michelle Beck’s credits include understudying the role of Beneatha in Broadway’s A Raisin in the Sun and a full season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Bay Area audiences may recognize Ashley Bryant, also making her TheatreWorks debut, from Berkeley Rep’s production of Eve Ensler’s Emotional Creature. Her film and television credits include Gossip Girl, Elementary, and Nurse Jackie. Lance Gardner was previously seen in Superior Donuts and Auctioning the Ainsleys here at TheatreWorks.
The cast and artistic team gathered earlier this week to begin rehearsals with director Leslie Martinson, assistant director Jeffrey Lo, and rehearsal understudy Davied Morales.
